General Dentistry

The general dentist examines, diagnoses and treats the teeth and gums.

Desert Dental Group has three locations that practices general dentistry and children’s dentistry.
General dentists provide services related to the general maintenance of oral hygiene and tooth health including; evaluations, diagnosis and prevention.

It is the general dentist’s responsibility to accurately diagnose and refer patients to the appropriate resources if the diagnose is outside their scope of practice. A Prosthodontist examines and diagnoses disabilities caused by loss of teeth and supporting structures. They formulate and execute treatment plans for the construction of corrective prosthesis to restore proper function and esthetics of the mouth, face, and jaw. Procedures include Veneers, Crowns and Dentures. General dentists are also experienced in Cosmetic dentistry.

Pediatric Dentistry/Children’s Dentistry

A pediatric dentist has at least two additional years of training beyond dental school. The additional training focuses on the management and treatment of a child’s developing teeth, jaw and overall physical growth. Pediatric dentists are trained to help children have a positive experience at the dentist as well as at home where they will play an active role in maintaining their oral hygiene.

Specialty Dentistry

Desert Dental Group features a professional team that practices specialty dentistry. Our highly qualified team of specialists includes Periodontist, Endodontist, Oral Surgeon and owner Joseph A Foroosh, DDS as our Orthodontist. Dr. Foroosh saw the need of a multi-specialty dental office for the High Desert where patients could benefit from high quality work, more affordable prices and the convenience of not having to go to a different company for various procedures.

Periodontics

Periodontists are dentists who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease. They have had extensive training with two additional years of study after dental school. As specialists they devote their time, energy and skill to helping patients care for their gums. Procedures include both non-surgical treatment of gum disease with scaling and root planning, or gum surgery in advanced cases.

Orthodontics

An orthodontist prevents and treats mouth, teeth, and jaw problems. Using braces, retainers, and other appliances, an orthodontist helps straighten a person’s teeth and correct the way the jaw lines up.

Endodontics

Endodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with the pathology of the tooth’s pulp and nerve tissue. Procedures include root canal, endodontic retreatment and apicoectomy.

Oral Surgery

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are who specialize in the surgery of the mouth, face and jaw. After four years of dental school, surgeons receive four to seven years of hospital-based surgical and medical training, preparing them to do a wide range of procedures including surgery of the bones and soft tissues of the face, mouth and neck. Procedures may involve placement of dental implants, wisdom teeth extraction and reconstructive jaw surgery.

Implants

Our practice also specializes in the placement of Dental Implants. An Implant replaces tooth roots and provides a foundation for a structure that replaces the tooth.

Implants are designed to have a natural appearance and to have years of durability.
